Working as a lead Instrument Engineer for Saih Rawl Depletion Compressor project
|
The project consists of addition of two numbers of three phase separators and four numbers of gas compressors with variable frequency drives in the existing plant to counter the depletion of the gas wells. The instrumentation scope consists mainly of Foxboro DCS system, Honeywell FSC safety system, Bently Nevada vibration monitoring systems, CCC system for compressor control, Communication between various equipments and field instrumentation. Specific achievements are listed below.
- Integrated the control system for the new separators into the existing control system to ensure the specified flow distribution in the separators
- Designed the control system for seamless start(without stopping the running plant) of the compressors at 96 bar pressure at suction and discharge
- Proposed and received the acceptance from the customer for a more cost effective device (conditioning orifice plate) for the compressor flow measurement instead of the venturi to achieve 1 % accuracy levels and reducing the straight length requirements for Duplex steel pipes.
- Designed air cooler control system for gas flow with inlet temperature from 70 to 100 degr.C and the ambient air(used for cooling) temperature from 20 to 50 degr.C, practically requiring a turndown of more than 4 to 1 in terms of the heat removed.
